The new diner is replacing the 25-year-old StarView Diner which closed on Wednesday, Jan. 3 along White Horse Pike in Somerdale, Camden County.

StarView owner Stefanos Kitrinos is retiring, he said in a handwritten note announcing the closing date to would-be customers on the restaurant's front door. A copy of the note was provided by 42Freeway.com.

"With a heavy heart, I have decided to start a new chapter. We are pleased to welcome Amy’s Omelette House,"  Kitrinos wrote.

“StarView Diner has been a success due to the support of all of you. This goes without saying the business has been an enjoyable part of my life,” the note said.

Amy’s owner Ted Kopsaftis also operates Amy's in Burlington, Cherry Hill and Long Branch on the Jersey Shore.

Kopsaftis expects to open the newest Amy's in one to two months after renovations near Somerdale Road, according to 42Freeway.com. The interim work includes light remodeling, new signs and staff training, the website said.

In addition to omelettes, Amy's features other breakfast and lunch meals on its menu including hamburgers, egg platters, French toast, melts, pancakes, salads and waffles.

Amy's is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Daily Voice reached out to Kopsaftis but was unable to reach the new owner.
